Inviting all Senior rugby players on Sunshine Coast to play for USC Rugby 2020

The University of the Sunshine Coast Rugby Club is inviting all rugby players to come and play for the mighty Barbarians.

We want to extend an open invite to all players who are thinking of playing seniors rugby this year. You may have never played rugby before, you may be new to the coast or you may want to find a senior club to play for since leaving school, USC Rugby wants to extend a warm welcome to you and hope you will consider playing for the club in season 2020.

2015 was a very successful season with A-Grade winning the competition at home. Currently there are two grades in Seniors, A Grade and Reserves so we will be aiming at both sides playing in this years grand final. The senior A competition for 2020 will have 6 teams from Noosa in the north to Wynnum in the south. Reserve Grade in 2020 will be made up of 9 teams from Gympie to Wynnum.

You don’t have to be a uni student to play for USC Rugby. Over 60% of the current squad are not students, with many tradies, professional services so don’t think you need to be a student to play. Our club is diverse in its make up and welcome everyone from all backgrounds.

Jarrod Bleijie senior rugby testimonialI write to congratulate the University of the Sunshine Coast Rugby Club on the premiership success of the USC Barbarians A Grade Seniors.

I was very pleased to attend the grand final and watch the Barbarians dominate their opponents. It was a fantastic afternoon of Rugby action.

Success is usually reflective, and often a result, of a strong administration and a dedicated team of volunteers and members. It is clear that the USC Rugby Club has many important contributors, both on, and off, the field.

A big congratulations to the players, and of course the sponsors, coaches, volunters and club members. I wish the USC Barbarians all the very best for the new season.

Yours Sincerely,

Jarrod Bleijie, MP
